IBPS Exam Pattern Overview

The IBPS PO/MT and Clerk examinations are conducted in two stages:

  • Tier 1: Preliminary Examination

IBPS Mains Exam Pattern

The IBPS Main Examination is the second stage of the selection process and is more advanced compared to the preliminary exam. Negative Marking:

  1. Candidates who clear the Main Examination are shortlisted for the interview round. This stage is conducted by participating banks and coordinated by a nodal bank in each state or union territory with the support of IBPS.
  • Total Marks: 100
  • Minimum Qualifying Marks:
    • 40% for General category
    • 35% for SC/ST/OBC/PWD/Ex-Servicemen candidates
  1. The final selection is based on a combined score where:
  • Main Exam carries 80% weightage
  • Interview carries 20% weightage
